The first and essential step is to mark all staves in the score, and to determine how many bars each staff contains.
The first and last staff marker are special markers which are already present when you open a new score. These staff markers can not be deleted.
The first staff marker is the green triangle on the top left side of the score, whereas the last staff marker is the red triangle on the bottom left side of the score.
- To view the staff markers select Place Markers in the top toolbar.
- Pull the green marker to the first staff OR tap and hold the light blue background besides the first staff and select Move Start Marker Here
- Tap on the green marker. In the top right corner you can enter the number of bars for the first staff.
- According to the number you entered, dotted vertical lines are created resembling the bar lines. Pull the dotted lines to the actual bar lines in the score.
- Now tap on the light blue background besides the second staff to create a staff marker there, and enter the number of bars for the second staff. The number of bars and placements of the bar lines are always copied from the previous staff.
- Again, pull the dotted lines to the actual bar lines in the score.
- Repeat this procedure for all staves in the score, until the staff before the last staff.
- Now, pull the red marker to the last staff OR tap and hold the light blue background besides the last staff and select Move Last Marker Here
- Finally, enter the number of bars for the last staff, and place the bar lines accordingly.
The video shows a demonstration of this process.
In the next step we will show you how you can make Five Lines even follow complex song structures.
