Handling Songbooks with multiple songs

Five Lines can handle songbooks that contain multiple songs in a single PDF file.

After you have imported the song book in the app, it will initially appear as a single song. You can then split the songbook into sections by marking the start and end of each individual song.

  1. Open the songbook in the app.
  2. Make sure, the staves of the songs you want to separate are correctly marked. (See Staff Markers)
  3. Tap on Basic Settings Song Sections Icon in the top toolbar and scroll down to the Sections setting.
  4. Tap on Plus Icon to create a new section.
  5. Scroll to the first line of the song you want to separate and tap on the corresponding staff marker.
  6. Enter the name of the new section/song and press Check Icon to accept.
  7. You can now choose if you want to directly change to the new section or if you want to add additional sections with the same procedure.

After you have created all sections, you can navigate between them by tapping on Basic Settings Song Sections Icon in the top toolbar and selecting the desired section.

After you have selected a section, all staff markers except for the current section are removed and will be ignored when playing the song.

If you choose All as the current section, the staff markers of all sections are displayed again. So to add additional sections you always have to select All as the current section.

You can delete a section by tapping on Trash Icon besides the Sections setting.
